                                                   Part 3

This image shows Patterns, Simplicity and Balance.
It shows patterns because of the circles. It shows some simplicity because most of the background is clear and the image dosnt have alto going on with it. It also shows balance because it uses the moon to balance all the other circles out and there is something on top of the circles with less importance.
This image in all shows simplicity and mergers well first of all the background is clear which manes the image simplicity and it has merger because it is cutting off the men you can only see the top of his body.

This image shows framing and balance, it shows framing because the people in the sides of the image are framing the picture, and it shows balance because it is focusing on the running dog , and it has the people on the sides that are not as important, and that balances the picture so that you can focus on the more important thing which in this case  is the running dog.

This image shows Leading lines and patters. It shows lines because the track it has lines and it shows patterns because those lines make patterns on the track it also has mergers because  is cutting off the half of the men on the very back of the image

Self portrait and Portraits preview

Tips:

1.  A good practice to get into when you're taking self-portraits is to use a mix of auto and manual focus. First, focus on your stand-in object using auto focus. Then, with the object still in focus, switch your lens to manual focus.
This will give you the freedom to tweak settings, re-meter for changing light and anything else you need to all without screwing up your established point of focus. Just make sure you stand perfectly on your mark each time you take a photo.

2. a single flash can do wonders for your portraits. I won’t go into any lighting details, but photography is about capturing light. You don’t need to buy a flash, I first started learning lighting using work lights. You can pick up a small but powerful work light from home depot for around ~$15.

3. The settings in which you make pictures of people are important because they add to the viewer's understanding of your subject. The room in which a person lives or works, their house, the city street they walk, the place in which they seek relaxation—whatever it is, the setting provides information about people and tells us something about their lives. Seek balance between subject and environment. Include enough of the setting to aid your image, but not so much that the subject is lost in it.

 Environmental portrait

I Picked both of this images because they show you clearly that one is in her work environment and the other is in her work/sport environment

The There Pillars

Aperture

Used at F16

                                       Used at F2.8

The Part of the body that we should relate aperture to is the background. The smaller the aperture the Larger the F-stop. It depends on the size that you want the aperture to be if it is a large number the    aperture is going to be small ,and if its a small number the aperture is gonna be large.

                                              Shutter Speed

High shutter speed

Low shutter speed

Lighting- photographers use several different types of lighting in order to create or capture the desired effect they are after

Distance- Is used to see how close or far you are from whatever it is that you are taking a picture of

Focal Length- This is used to create depth of field this meaning that if you want it too look far away you zoom out  to were it looks from war away this creating more depth of filed and if you want it to look smaller or you zoom in so the depth of filed is smaller

IOS- If you take an image with a high IOS it crates grain in the image and if you take it with a low IOS the image will look cleaner

Aperture-  is used when you want  to make an  image with a blurry background the larger the f number the smaller the aperture this means that if the f number is large the image will be all clear but if the f number is smaller the image will have a blurry background.

IOS 200 And IOS 3200

The advantage of shooting with a higher IOS setting at a sporting event like a nigh football game is that if you shoot it at a higher IOS the image will look good instead of dark. The author said that if the IOS Number is lower the less sensitive it will be to light , while a high IOS number increases the sensitivity of the camera.
And he also said that if you use a high IOS number that the camera can capture images in low light without having to use flash.

F4- This one  one looks best at 1/60 sec shutter speed and at 1/125 sec - The background in this one is all blurry you cant see anything in the background.

F5.6 -This one looks best at 1/60 sec shutter speed- The background is blurry but you can kinda see there is  something in the background the background is starting to show a little.

F8- This one looks best at 1/60 sec shutter speed- You can see the backgound more clearly but it is still a little blurred out the subject is starting to reveal its self .

F11- this one also looks best at 1/60 sec shutter peed- You can see the background completely and the subject is starting to reveal its self but its getting darker.

F16 -This one looks best at 1/30 sec shutter speed- The image looks darker but you can see the background it kinda looks blurry The image is getting darker and the background is staring to show.

F22-This one looks best at  1/8 sec shutter speed- This one you can see the background completely  and it has enough light the subject is revealing its self and the lighting is kinda perfect.

I made an 86 on the depth of filed test  and a 91 on the shutter speed i understand them both well enough.

Great Black and White Photographers Part 3

1.) What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photos? Is there something in particular about their photos that made you want to choose them?
What caught my eye while looking at the first photo of the photographer was they way he used the mannequins to make it look like they were real woman standing if you saw the image from far away
, and what caught my eye with the second photographers image was the way she used the black and white to make the image look even more sad that it would have looked with color.

What i see and feel when i see the picture . I sense  sadness and mystery but at the same time you can see that  they are angry on the inside and are trying hard to stay with their head up high but seem hopeless.and they look like they are drowning in their thoughts.
What i hear I hear thunder and rain falling from the sky
What i smell rain and mud
I taste chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake chocolate everything.

mural project preview

A theme that i could use here at school to make a mural that tells a unique story is the school spirit for example using the homecoming, the different school clothing they have like the shirts the cheerleader uniforms the mascot , the events they have like blue and gold night etc.

This theme is worth devoting time and effort to capture because is stuff that happens throughout the school year and it shows how much the whole school population has spirit on this school .

In a phone camera you cant adjust images as you want them . The  advantages from a phone camera is that you can filter the image and take an image with the front camera and the back camera

A advantage that an SLR camera has is that  you have different adjustment to choose from and you can manipulate the distance an focus when taking a picture. A disadvantage is that you cant filter an image after you take it and it doesn't have a second lens like a phone has a back and front camera.

We should use SLR cameras because its easier to download images from the SLR camera to a computer and also because with the SLR camera we can adjust how we want to take the picture

Reactions to Power Point Presentation

This image shows 4 cheetahs they look like a family , and they are standing on a hill or a rock looking around. This was my favorite image because first of all i like cheetahs and second because i like their posture. The rules that i see in this image are balance and simplicity , i see balance because of their posture and simplicity because the background is simple.

About Nick Brandt

The type of camera that Nick Brandt used to shoot this image was a Pentax 67II with only tow fixed lenses. The reason why he took this images was to memorialize the vanishing natural grandeur of East Africa. His hope by taking this type of photos is to show the animals sleeplessness in the state of being , int he state of being before they are no  longer are. What he thinks about Africa and its wild animals." This world is under terrible threat, all of it caused by us. To me, every creature, human or nonhuman, has an equal right to live, and this feeling, this belief that every animal and I are equal, affects me every time I frame an animal in my camera. The photos are my elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this enchantingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes."

Academic shoot posted

1. How well did you follow the rule?  I followed the framing rule really well because the red corners are framing the image

2. What is the subject (be very very specific)?  The subject is to capture academic pictures but also adding rules to what type of picture you take and making sure the image matches a rule.

3. Is it clear to people looking at your photos what the subject is? Most of them are clear for example my framing , avoiding mergers, rule of thirds, and balance photos are clear for people to see what the subject is.

4. If you didn't follow the rule well, what could you have done differently? If i dint follow the rule well , i could have followed the definition of each rule for it to help me out what the rule meant and at least give me an idea of what it should look like.
